Gerald Geoffrey Blanchard ’29

Body

JERRY DIED on Oct. 25, 1989. He had prepared for college at Andover. At Princeton he was in Theatre Intime and St. Paul's Society and was manager of the Pistol Team. He belonged to Cloister Inn.

Jerry was a lawyer, having received his LL.B. from Fordham in 1933, but did not follow regular practice. Almost his entire career was with the Grace Line and other Grace enterprises, for which he traveled widely, chiefly in Latin America and the U.S.

Jerry was in the Navy from 1942 to 1946, retiring as a lieutenant commander. He saw extensive action in the Pacific and received many decorations. In 1947 he married Charlotte Isabel Magee, a lieutenant in the WAVES. She is deceased, and Jerry left no close relatives. The class extends sympathy to Jerry's many friends, especially in Morristown and Hackettstown.
