Glanville Downey ’31
WITH THE DEATH of Glanville Downey on Dec. 18, 1991, the Class lost a member who followed a truly distinguished teaching and publishing career. For many years he was professor of history and classical studies at Indiana Univ. He authored several books, which reflected his wide knowledge of events in the Roman Empire and in the Near East. He retired in 1977 and moved to Walnut Creek, Calif., with his wife, Sarah, who predeceased him. He is survived by three daughters and two grandsons, to whom the Class extends its sincere sympathy,
