GORDON DIED Aug. 24, 1994, in Newport News, Va. He was 80. He prepared at Phillips Exeter. At Princeton, he majored in political science and was a member of Cannon Club. In 1950, he graduated from Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers. During WWII, he was a captain in the army transport service with the Persian Gulf Command.

Gordon served as president and/or chairman of several banks, as director of the Virginia Bankers Assn. and as trustee of the Virginia-Maryland Bankers School. He also volunteered as a trustee of Hampton Univ., the Hampton School Board, and Norfolk State Univ., and was on the Advisory Boards of Peninsula Vo-Tech School, Thomas Nelson Community College, and Old Dominion College.

He took leadership roles with the Dixie Hospital. WHRO Educational TV, his local Chamber of Commerce, Symphony Orchestra, Arts Assn., United Fund, American Red Cross, Travelers Aid, Kiwanis Club, and St. John's Episcopal Church. He was honored with the Brotherhood Citation from the Natl. Conference of Christians and Jews.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Elizabeth Healy, son Dr. Gordon B. Jr., brother Dr. Robert P. '40, and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by son Porter H. We will indeed miss this loyal Princetonian and classmate.
