Gordon Granger ’52
Gordie graduated from Blair Academy (class president) and spent a year at Lehigh before joining us. His father, Allen Granger, was in the Class of 1901. Gordie joined Tiger, studied politics, was on the wrestling team, and belonged to the Glee Club and Westminster Fellowship. He roomed with Jack Dodds, Win Cousins, and Bob Bader.
After military service as a second lieutenant in the Army, he worked in banking for a time, then took up a long career with the Provident Life and Accident Insurance Co., retiring as regional manager.
Active in the Chatham, N.J., community, he was a member of Minisink, Canoe Brook Toastmasters, and Rotary. He was a church elder and helped found the Senior Center of the Chathams.
Gordie died Nov. 28, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; daughters Lynn and Cynthia; and his son Douglas. To them the class sends its best, with memories of Gordie’s good company and skill at sports. And a salute to Gordie for his military service to our country.
