GORDON DIED May 21, 1991. He had been survived by his widow, Marguritte, but unfortunately she passed away only for months after his demise.

Gordon was a native of Cincinnati. After graduation he began a long banking career at Irving Trust Co., where he served until 1945 - after the end of WWII. He spent the next four years with Lincoln National Bank of Cincinnati. In 1949 he took a position with the First National Bank of Miami Florida. Gordon spent the next 33 years in various banks in Miami and Miami Beach, retiring from Barnett Bank of Miami Beach.

Gordon had been active in alumni activities, including the Princeton Club of South Florida, of which he been a former treasurer.

An avid sports fan, Gordon gave particular allegiance to the Cincinnati Reds baseball team, which he had followed since boyhood, He was also interested in college football, including the Tigers. In addition he was very fond of deep sea fishing in the Gulf Stream off Miami.

He is survived by his son James G. Japp Sr. and two grandchildren. Also surviving is Marjorie Japp Koors.

The Class extends to all of them its most sincere sympathy for their loss.
