Harold E. Waller ’26
HAROLD WALLER, a wellknown industrialist and a retired chairman of Boss Manufacturing Co., died Dec. 3, 1993, at his home in Oakwood Village, a retirement community in Madison, Wisc. He was 91. Harold prepared at Choate. While at Princeton, he played freshman football and was on the business board of the NASSAU LIT and the TIGER.
Harold left college in 1924 to start at Boss Co., a company founded by his grandfather in the 1890s, which made work gloves. In due course, Harold became executive officer of the company and for a number of years was president and chairman of the board. He retired in 1967.
Harold and Elsie McColm Butler married in Nov. 1927 and lived most of their lives in Kewanee, Ill., where Harold's firm was located. It was there that Harold took an active part in community affairs. He was a trustee of Hadley School for the Blind and chairman of the United Way, the Kewanee Hospital Foundation, and the American Red Cross. He was a loyal Princetonian and member of the class.
Harold is survived by Elsie, by their three children (Ellis R, '59, Nancy W. Nadler, and Harold E ' Jr.), by seven grandchildren, and by 10 greatgrandchildren. To all, we extend our deep sympathy.
