HICKEY DIED Dec. 3, 1991, at his home in Montour Falls, N.Y. He had retired in 1977, but with no idea of leaving a countryside he loved. He stayed on in Montour Falls in a house surrounded by trees he had planted himself. Following graduation Hickey joined the sales staff at the N.Y.C. branch office of Shepard Niles Crane and Hoist Corp. In 1961 he was asked to move to the home Montour Falls as assistant sales manager. He later became V.P. and general sales manager. Widely respected throughout his community, he was known as a man who went out of his way to be friends with everybody. He was a member of the board of directors pf Shepard Niles, Chemung Canal Trust Co., and SchuylerHospital, and he served as president of the hospital association.

From 1942 to 45 Hickey served with the Armored Forced artillery) attached to Patton's Third Army, received the Bronze Star, and was discharged as a major.

Hickey's wife, Carol, died in 1979. He is survived by their daughters Anne (Thomczak) and Claudia (Barber), four grandchildren, a greatgranddaughter, and his brother Edward, to all of whom we offer our sincere sympathy.
