Harry L. Bush *52

Body

HARRY L. BUSH, retired Army colonel, died in Georgetown Univ. Hospital Jan. 17, 1993, at the age of 74. In recent years, he and his wife had made their home in Washington, D.C., and Hobe Sound, Fla.

Col. Bush was born in Auburn, Ala., and spent his early years there earning a bachelor's degree from Auburn Univ. He joined the Army in 1941 and was commissioned in the field artillery, serving in Europe during WW11 and subsequently in the Korean conflict. He was awarded a master of science in engineering degree by Princeton. Much of his military career was devoted to Army aviation and associated research and development activities. His military decorations include the Legion of Merit (awarded to him twice), three Air Medals, the Bronze Star, the Order of the Purple Heart, the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Army Commendation Medal, and the badge of Army Master Aviator. He was an enthusiastic fisherman and in later years, enjoyed doing fine woodworking. To Mrs. Bush and their two sons, Harry L. Jr. '64 and William 0. W '75, we extend deepest sympathy.
