Harvey J. Plants ’38

Body

HARVEY JACK PLANTS DIED of congestive heart failure Feb. 19, 1994, in a nursing home where he had lived for two years. His health had been deteriorating for some time and had required arterial grafts to eliminate aneurysms.

After a start in advertising, Harvey found his forte producing industrial training films for the Navy and Air Force at Pathescope. In 1958, he joined General Foods's communications and training division, where his expertise allowed him to contribute to a number of businesses. Upon retiring in 1977, he moved to Cape Cod.

Harvey's first marriage to Alexandra Arlov, with whom he had a daughter Juliet, ended in divorce. He married Marjorie H. Patterson in 1969; she died in 1982. He is survived by a brother William J., whose son David '78 made a home for him until nursing home care was necessary.

Harvey was a loyal Princetonian and classmate, and attended many reunions. He served on schools and scholarship committees and from 1979-83 was '38's regional v.p. for Massachusetts and Rhode Island. We miss his entertaining conversations whenever we get together.
