HANK GREENE died on Aug. 14, 1989, while visiting his family in Grand Rapids, Mich., where he had been a prominent businessman and civic leader before he retired to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. He attended Lawrenceville School. At Princeton, he majored in classics and was a member of Cottage Club.

For some years after graduation, he was in the life insurance field with Massachusetts Mutual in Philadelphia. He then worked briefly with the Walker Manufacturing Co., of Racine, Wisc. In 1940, he joined R.C. Allen Business Machines, Inc., of Grand Rapids, serving at first as New England district manager, and then moving to the home office in 1942. He became V.P. in charge of sales and then, in 1955, president of the company. He worked for Xerox Corp. from 1962 to 1966. He retired from the Allen Co. in 1970 and moved to Florida. Hank was a vestryman in St. Marks Episcopal Church and was senior warden for several years.

Hank and Abigail Allen were married on Aug. 11, 1932. Abigail died on Oct. 1, 1987. There are four children, Marjorie Wallendorf, Ralph A, Alexander "Mac" II, and Abigail Thompson; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Hank's brother, Alexander M. '19, died in 1974. Hank was an active and enthusiastic Princetonian. He served a term as class secretary. He was president of the Philadelphia Alumni Assn. and secretary of the Princeton Club of Broward County, Fla. We remember him gratefully for his ready energy and enthusiasm, and our sympathy is expressed to his children.
