Henry C. McCormick ’35

Mac died Feb. 10, 2011, in Longwood, Fla., just shy of his 99th birthday.

Born in Williamsport, Pa., he came to Princeton from The Hill School. At Princeton he majored in psychology, played baseball, and took his meals at Cap and Gown. His senior-year roommates were G.J. Willock, R.C. Luther, and J.A. Gregory.

After Princeton, Mac went to Yale Law School and then practiced with the McCormick Law Firm in Williamsport until retiring in 1978. In 2000 he moved permanently to Florida.  

Mac was devoted to Williamsport, his family having lived there since the 17th century. The long list of his civic, social, and philanthropic involvements there does not do justice to his contributions to the community. He was able to return to his beloved hometown in 2008, driven there by his daughter, Martha Porter.  

Mac was married twice, the first marriage ending in divorce and the second with the death of his wife. At the time of his death, Mac was survived by his companion, Isabel Harris; three children from his first marriage; two grandsons; and a great-granddaughter.
