Henry D. Vezan ’42

Body

Henry Vezan died April 28, 2011, in Bristol, Conn., after a long struggle with dementia and congestive heart failure.

Hank was born in Yonkers, N.Y. He prepared at the Choate School. At Princeton he joined Dial Lodge and majored in the School of Public and International Affairs.

Following graduation he joined the Navy and served on destroyer escorts and PT boats in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. He was discharged as a lieutenant.

Back in civilian life, Hank worked initially in a brass mill and later for a helicopter manufacturer. Finally, in 1958, he founded a personnel-consulting business, Vezan-West and Co. In this capacity he found managers and technical people for client companies in southern New England. Henry was a warm-hearted man with a large fund of concern for those less fortunate than he.

Henry is survived by his daughter, Deborah Hine; son Peter; and his grandson, Pierre Louis. To them and the extended family, the class sends sympathy.
