Herbert B. Turkington ’54

Herbert Turkington of Largo, Fla., died Feb. 5, 2012, at Bay Pines VA Hospital.

Born in Hackensack, N.J., he attended Bogota High School. At Princeton, he majored in English and the American civilization program. He was a member of Dial Lodge and numerous campus organizations. He subsequently graduated from Yale Law School in 1957, after which he served in the Army in an intelligence unit.

Turk practiced law for many years in New York City. He retired to Ocean City, N.J., and later moved to Largo. He was active in support of music organizations in both cities. He  is survived by his wife, Ceil; her sons, Richard and Robert; and seven grandchildren. The class extends sympathy to them in their loss.
