Herbert S. Swan ’49

Body

The following memorial was posted online with the April 23, 2014, issue.

Herbert Swan died Sept. 14, 1997, at his home in Barrington Hills, Ill. We have only recently learned of his passing.

Herb was born in Orange, N.J., Jan. 2, 1928, grew up in Upper Montclair, attended Phillips Exeter Academy, and entered Princeton in the summer of 1945. He lived at 10 North Dod, but stayed at the University just four semesters and left in 1947. He served in the Air Force from 1952 to 1956 and then became a marketing executive for Motorola.

At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife, Ruth; a daughter, Roberta Swan Robinson; a brother; and a granddaughter. Those of us who remember Herb regret very much that we were not able to stay in touch with him, and we send our condolences to his loved ones.
