HERMAN McCARTHY was born in N.Y.C. Dec. 13, 1903, and died in Vero Bench, Fla., July 7, 1994. He prepared at Townsend Harris H.S. and transferred to us from C.C.N.Y. in 1922. At Princeton, he was active in Theatre Intime. He left us to study law in June 1922.

He practiced law with McCarthy and McGrath in N.Y.C. He was a lieutenant in the Navy in WWII. He belonged to the Princeton Club of New York and the Sands Point Club, and served as counsel to the Village of Sands Point. He later moved to New Canaan, Conn. He later retired to Florida.

He married Marion Knowles in 1932 and they had two children James '55 and Marni. His second wife, Peggy, also predeceased him.
