Holmes Thomson Bennett ’31

Body

HOLMES T. BENNETT ("Trix" to us) died Nov. 19, 1993, in Delray Beach, Fla., having moved there from Bayside, Wisc., when he retired in 1970. He had been manager of real estate in the mortgage and loan division of the Prudential Insurance Co. He later served our alma mater as president of the Palm Beach County Princeton Alumni Assn.

Trix was a spectacular athlete. Outstanding as a back on the football team, he would slither between defenders, then twist free from a tackler as if he wore a greased wetsuit. After college, he enjoyed golf and fishing. His wife, Ginny, participated with him in these sports and in their travels.

Besides his widow, Virginia, Trix is survived by two children, Holmes T. Jr. and Barbara Pierce, and by three grandchildren. Trix was a great favorite with his classmates, and was a loyal member of 1931 and supporter of Princeton. He will be sorely missed by his Tiger Inn clubmates and all of us. We extend our deep sympathy to the whole family.
