Howard S. Zucker ’52

Howard was a native of Brooklyn, where he attended Midwood High School. There he was active in student affairs and musical organizations.

At Princeton, Howard’s academic goal was to prepare for medical school and a subsequent career as a physician. He joined Court Club, maintained his interest in music, and was secretary of the French Club.

Howard earned a medical degree from Johns Hopkins in 1956 and then became a pathologist, serving first at civilian hospitals and then for two years at an Air Force hospital with the rank of captain. Thereafter he pursued a career as assistant medical examiner in Westchester County, N.Y., and then in independent practice specializing in pathological research.

Howard married Alice Kahan, and the couple had two sons before their marriage ended in divorce.

Howard did not participate in class activities after graduation but conscientiously stayed in touch through our 50th. For the Book of Our History he wrote a cogent appreciation of Princeton and its influence on our lives. We did not hear from Howard after that.
