Red Schneider, who had held every class office at one time or another, died Apr. 1, 1995. He had lived in Bethesda, Md., for 55 years and had moved to Asbury Village in 1992.

Red prepared at Newark Academy. At Princeton, he was a member of the Glee Club and Terrace Club. After attending Yale and Columbia Law Schools, he served in various government agencies, and entered private practice in Washington in 1940. In 1959, he was elected v.p ., general counsel, and a director of Pan American Airways.

After retiring, he became counsel to the Washington firm Steptoe and Johnson. During the war, Red had served as deputy asst. chief of staff, intelligence in the Air Force in the Pacific.

He was a past president of the Princeton Club of Washington, a member of the Alumni Council and of the Univ. Council on Resources. He was given a Distinguished Community Service Award by the Princeton Club of Washington. He was past president of the Burning Tree Club and a life member of the Chevy Chase Club.

Red's wife died in 1984. He is survived by son Peter '59, daughters Mary Ann Hughes and Elizabeth Backe, brother Henry '37, sister Eleanor Welsh, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. To all of them, we extend our sympathy.
