Hugo DIED May 12,1992. lie was born in Butte, Mont., and after Princeton returned to his home town, until moving back to New Jersey 43 years ago,

Our classmate was graduated from Butte H.S., where lie was a member of the football and basketball teams. After his freshman year at the Univ. of Montana, Hugo transferred to Old Nassau, as a sophomore, in Sept. 1920.

our Hugo settled in Union, N.J. He established himself first as an auditor with the Hanover Chemical Co., in Newark, and later as a service sales manager for Friglehardt Hanovia Corp., where he worked until his retirement in 1967.

During WWII Hugo was a major in the Army, first on duty in Indiantown Gap, Penn. lie became the chief inspection officer, operations section, at Fort Shanks, N.Y. He was appointed lieutenant colonel on May 15, 1947. (His son was a corporal in the U.S. Marines, having enlisted on Feb. 25, 1942) Hugo later served as commander of the American Legion Post 433 of New Providence, and as a member of the Senior Citizens of New Providence.

Hugo is survived by his widow, the former Doris Michel; two grandchildren; and a great grandchild. His son Robert predeceased him. His widow lives at One Salem Road, Murray Hill, N.J., 07974, The Class of 1923 shares her loss, and pays respect to a life well lived.
