J. Monroe Hawkins ’53

Body

It’s just been made known that Monroe died March 1, 2010.

Not known is where he died or what became of him after he left Princeton in fall 1949. He roomed for three months with Ed Rubin. Ed recalls Monroe as a “pleasant individual” and regrets that he dropped out after about 90 days.

Monroe was admitted from Exeter, and after several calls to the school’s alumni office, all that was learned was that Monroe’s brother was Charles Hawkins, Exeter ’45, but he, too, is deceased.
