James Brady Salsich ’38

Body

JIM SALSICH, retired prep school teacher and much admired classmate, died Apr. 27, 1992, in Albuquerque, after several years of battling ill health with cheerfulness and patience.

An enthusiastic athlete, he won numerals and three letters in football, but his fondest memories were of the more informal sport of rugby, which he captained senior year, An avid golfer, he shot in the low 70s in his heyday. He was a member of Cap & Gown and majored in psychology.

After seven years with DuPont, he began teaching sciences and math in several prestigious prep schools around the country, concluding that career at Santa Fe Prep, in New Mexico. In 1968 he went into real estate, retiring from that when heart problems struck him in 1981. The past few years were not good to him, but he endured his Parkinson's disease with courage.

Jim married Pat Kendall in 1941. They had eight children, two of whom have died. His entry in 50 YEARS LATER tells of his devotion to family. Pat joined him in realty and remains in that business. To the family we send Our sincere sympathy, and we give thanks for having known this tremendous person.
