JIM MCILROY died June 16, 1993, in Sedona, Ariz. A memorial service was held at Berkeley Lutheran Church in Pittsburgh on June 24 '

Jim was born Sept. 6, 1912, in Allison Park, near Pittsburgh. He prepared at Mercersburg. In college he was in the university orchestra, manager of wrestling, and a member of Key and Seal. He roomed with Chet Fisher, Irv Rutledge, Bob Muschlitz, and Doc Mayo.

After a year at Harvard Business School, Jim spent two years with Armstrong Cork. He then joined Pittsburgh Pipe and Coupling Co., in Allison Park of which he became president and chairman, retiring in 1985. During WWII, Jim spent five years in the army, leaving as a colonel.

Jim was very active in civic and business affairs in Pittsburgh.

He retired to Sedona in 1991.

On Dec. 14, 1940, Jim married Jean Tipson in Pittsburgh. She survives, as do their five children, Robert '67, William, Charles, Laurie Moskowitz, and Wendy. Other survivors include Jim's brother, Robert; seven grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild, To Jean and all the family, the Class of '33 extends its deep sympathy.
