    Jim died March 18, 2023, in Las Vegas, where he resided.

Born in Bethlehem, Pa., he was educated at Deerfield Academy, where he edited the school newspaper, belonged to the debating society, and was class valedictorian. At Princeton, he was a University Scholar, majored in physics, belonged to Cap and Gown, and played jazz piano. Following Princeton, he earned a doctorate from Harvard Business School.

Jim’s career in wind energy and conservation earned him international acclaim. He was co-founder and first president of Princeton Energy Group. He had more than 30 years of experience at senior levels of state and federal government, including the Office of Management and Budget and the California Energy Commission. He served as CEO of EDF Renewable Energy, a leading developer and operator of wind energy projects in North America, and he led renewable energy projects in Greece, Turkey, and Mexico. His service for the American Wind Wildlife Institute led the organization to create the James A. Walker Future of Wind and Wildlife Fellowship.

Jim’s survivors include his wife, Anastasia; sons James and Stephen; and brother Graham, to all of whom the class extends its condolences.
