Jerry died Oct. 19, 2015, in Greenwich, Conn., his home for the last 50 years.

Born June 15, 1928, in Media, Pa., Jerry came to Princeton from Swarthmore High School, majored in psychology, and graduated with honors. He was a member of Sigma Xi and Elm Club, played 150-pound football, and wrote for the Nassau Sovereign. Jerry also participated in Theatre Intime, Whig-Clio, and WPRU.

After graduation, he joined N.W. Ayer & Sons in Philadelphia and subsequently moved to the company’s New York offices. After two years in the Army, Jerry held major executive responsibilities at American Airlines, the travel firm of Thomas Cook, and at Ayer. In 1991, he retired as executive vice president of Ayer & Sons and spent much time in Greenwich and at his home in Florida.

Jerry said he could never believe he was “so lucky as to have two blissful marriages in one lifetime … on balance, life has been very good.” He is survived by his sons, Mark and Douglas, but was predeceased by his daughter, Betsy; and his wives, Barbara and Jean. We salute this happy warrior and his family.
