Body

JOEL HINKEL DIED Mar. 18, 1994, in N.Y.U. Hospital. He spent the greater part of his career with A. C. Nielsen Co., where he was an account executive. He retired Jan. 1, 1976, after 30 years of service at the firm. Thereafter, he took part-time employment with the Child Welfare Information Services, Inc., in N.Y.C. He was for many years an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in N.Y.C., serving as president of its parish council from 1963-67. He was also an ardent supporter and fund raiser for the N.Y.C. Ballet, serving on several of its committees.

Joel was drafted into the army in 1942, and after several specialist assignments, he joined the Third Army. For his service in Europe, he was awarded three battle-zone pins.

Joel never married. His closest survivor is his sister, Mrs. Margaret Leiby, to whom the class extends its sincere condolences.
