JOHN BOGART DIED of cancer Dec. 17, 1993, at his home in Boca Raton. He represented several U.S. companies in Venezuela (he lived in Caracas for 20 years) before returning to the U.S. and settling in Florida. He was also an airline pilot, the owner of a resort in the Netherlands Antilles, a lowhandicap golfer, a yachtsman, and an acclaimed reunion enthusiast. John was once described by an older alumnus as "very smart, very attractive, and quite a money maker." He flew a small plane to our 5th reunion, and he flew large commercial planes over the Andes as a Panagra captain. In one way or another, he was involved in flying for 40 years. As a yachtsman, he cruised from Nova Scotia, where he had a summer place, to Venezuela, when he was 50. He sailed from Boca Raton to Nova Scotia 20 years later.

Twice married, John is survived by four daughters, Barbara Mack w'55, Cynthia Passmore, Anita Orr, and Marian Lauffer, and four grandchildren. A son, John Theodore, died last year.
