John D. Rode ’30
JOHN BOOR died May 8, 1992, at the Cape Canaveral Hospital in Florida.
John prepared for Princeton at Poly Prep and Horace Mann schools in Brooklyn. At Princeton he was a member of Cannon Club. After graduating with a B.S. in economics, he went on to Columbia Law School, where he obtained [its LL.B. He practiced law in New York, specializing in customs law, until his retirement in 1967, after which lie moved to Florida.
John served as president of the Assn. of the Customs Bar and as director of the Nail. Council of American Importers. During WWII he served in the Navy as a Communications officer in the Mediterranean.
Prior to his retirement to Florida, John lived in Scarborough, N.Y., where he was village trustee for Briarcliff Manor, chairman of the planning board and zoning board of appeal, and president of the Board of Trustees of Scarborough School.
John is survived by his widow, Yvette; three sons, John S. '61 ' Henry J. 11 '64, and Peter '68; five grandchildren; and two sisters. To them the Class extends its sincere sympathy.
