John Douglas C. Barr ’52

Doug came to Princeton from the Hun School. He joined Cottage and majored in English. He left senior year to join the Air Force. He was commissioned and flew as a fighter pilot over Iceland until 1957, when he returned to graduate that year from Princeton. He then earned a law degree from Loyola School of Law in Los Angeles and practiced criminal law. He became a country lawyer in a small California town and later founded with his second wife, Dianne, a photography studio. Pairing photography with flying, they captured previously unrecorded Northern California beauty.
Doug died Nov. 13, 2024. He is survived by Dianne and 10 children, to whom the class sends its good wishes.
