John E. Ramming ’58

Body

JOHN RAMMING was a big man. He was a man people looked up to. In high school, he was a top basketball player. At Princeton, he majored in religion and was a member of Tiger Inn. You probably remember him as a quiet, self-sufficient man.

After college, John built a career in marketing. Early on, he was in sales management with R. H. Donnelly's Yellow Pages. Later, he developed a variety of marketing, public relations, and printing company ventures. Most recently he headed his own firm, helping Russians to market their products in the U.S.

John stayed in touch with Pete Peril '58, who lived in the same N.Y.C. neighborhood. Although John was not active in Princeton affairs, he was proud of his association with the university. His widow, Pat, reports that, like many of us, he wished that he had done more to take advantage of the opportunities that the university offered.

John is survived by his widow, son Ed, and brother George. The class extends sympathy to them all.
