John Fox Graham ’48

He was a graduate of Loyola High School in Baltimore. At Princeton he majored in politics, belonged to Cap and Gown, and was an honorable mention All-American in lacrosse in 1947 and 1948.

Jack was in naval air intelligence at the end of World War II. He was recalled to active duty during the Korean War and served aboard the carrier U.S.S. Princeton until being discharged in 1953.  

Jack was active in Big Brothers for 30 years and served as a Sunday school teacher at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen. He was only a lad at Martha’s Vineyard when he began a lifetime career as a sailboat racer. He raced for years from Annapolis all over the Chesapeake Bay. He played tennis two or three times a week and officiated lacrosse from 1956 to 1969.

Jack is survived by Virginia, his wife of 59 years; daughter Gay; sons John Jr., Scott, and David; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.  

The class has lost a great friend and grand sportsman.
