John Hoyt Slawson ’22
THE CLASS is saddened to report that Jack Slawson died Feb. 15, 1992, after a series of strokes. He had been in excellent health until that time and around the time of his death stated that he was enjoying himself thoroughly in Honolulu. He was Princeton's oldest alumnus living on the Harrison Islands.
Jack and Rosalie moved to Hawaii, in 1973, from Spokane. Jack lived in Olympia, Wash., until 19 3, where he was general manager of the State Liquor Control Board. He moved to Spokane (his home town) and became president of a small familycontrolled, independent telephone company in Cheney.
Jack was born on Oct. 2, 1899, in Spokane and had lived in Washington continuously until his departure in 1973, except for his four years at Princeton. His wife, Rosalie, died in 1981, and he is survived by two stepchildren, three grandchildren, and six greatgrandchildren. At Princeton, he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Whig Hall, and Dial Lodge.
