John Pozzi ’78

Body

JOHN'S FRIENDS ARE SADDENED to report his death on Apr. 26, 1994, after a long fight with AIDS.

At Princeton, John majored in art history, writing his thesis on the W.P.A. and artists, such as Stuart Davis, who benefited from the New Deal's patronage. John was also able to explore and develop his own creative spirit, producing many drawings, paintings, and sculpture in the studio-art program at 185 Nassau St. John was an active participant in the J. P. Stevens boycott and the Nassau Hall sitin protesting the university's South African investments. Perhaps most important, many of the friendships John made at Princeton continued to grow and flourish for the rest of his life.

After Princeton, John moved to N.Y.C. He attended N.Y.U. Law School, leaving after a year to pursue a more creative career. Most recently, John was art director of INVESTMENT DEALERS DIGEST.

John's rich sense of humor, immense creativity, and extraordinary intelligence remained with him throughout his illness. He is survived by his beloved companion, James Shaheen, his sisters Joan and Anne Marie, and many friends who will miss him terribly.
