Jack died peacefully June 26, 2011.

He prepared at Episcopal Academy, following his father, John R. Chamberlin ’17, to Princeton. He majored in electrical engineering, was on the freshman football and gym teams, the 150-pound football team, and varsity gym and rugby teams, and was a member of the Triangle Club chorus, Theatre Intime, and Quadrangle Club.

Jack was a lieutenant in the Navy during World War II, serving as a chief engineer on a destroyer escort and attack transport in three theaters.

Jack had management positions at GE and ITE and founded the Professional Data Control Co. in Louisville. He belonged to the IEEE, the Franklin Institute, the Newcomen Society, and NEMA. He also participated in local activities such as the Boy Scouts and school parents’ associations. He enjoyed history and electronics during his leisure hours.

Jack is survived by his wife of 68 years, Elizabeth (Kendall); his son, David; his daughters, Linda Savard, Martha Chamberlin, Clare Culien, and Bonnie Meier; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
His classmates offer the family their sincere sympathies.
