John R. Midgley ’44

Body

JACK DIED Apr. 22, 1994, in Kennewick, Wash. He prepared at the Berkshire School. At Princeton, he was a catcher on the baseball team and manager of Dial Lodge. He left the university in June of 1942, having matriculated with the Class of 1943. In Oct. 1943, he married Bernice Dahn. He then spent two years in the air corps, in England.

He spent almost his entire career-28 years-with Boeing. He worked first in procurement and later spent almost 10 years developing and negotiating contracts for Boeing in Australia.

In 1980, after a heart attack, he retired. Shortly thereafter, he had double heart surgery, performed by Bill Duncan '58. He was an avid golfer; painted sand dollars, which he sent all over the world to friends; and, with his wife, was devoted to church.

They enjoyed their condo on the Pacific. To Bernice, his children, Sarah and Susan; and his two grandchildren, the class extends its deep sympathy.
