John Richard Savage ’31

JACK DIED Oct. 1, 1992, at Bainbridge Island, Wash. He prepared at Westminster School. While at Princeton, he held the Brown Scholarship arid was a member of Tiger Inn. He served five years in the Army arid was discharged a captain in 1946.

His career took him to Honolulu, for the Hawaiian Electric Company; to Portland, Ore., for Northwest Gas Company; and to St. Paul, Minn., for Conwed Corp., front which he retired in 1973. He moved to Bainbridge Island in 1985. Jack served as our Class treasurer, and was a past president of the Princeton Club of Oregon. He was a member of the Encampment Forest Assn., Wing Point Country Club, and St. Barnabas Episcopal Church. He was an active supporter of the South Bainbridge Community Assn. and had a lifelong interest in the environment.

Jack is survived by his widow, Mary; his sister Virginia; three daughters, Mary, Elspeth, and Nancy '76; and four grandchildren, The Class sends its deepest sympathy to his family.
