John Robert Dodd ’68

Body

John died May 9, 2010, after battling lymphoma for several months. He was 64.

John came to Princeton from Bellefontaine (Ohio) High School, where he played football, basketball, and tennis. At Princeton he majored in statistics, played varsity tennis and basketball, and ate at Cottage, where he played a mean game of pool. He received a master’s degree from American University.

John taught, coached, and acted as athletic director for 40 years at St. Albans School, Episcopal High School, Columbus Academy, and New Albany (Ohio) High School. He also coached men’s and women’s tennis at Denison University. He was a past president of the Ohio Tennis Coaches’ Association and a member of the USTA. He was a collector of sports memorabilia and an avid bridge and tennis player.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; their children, Erin Dodd Coulter and Ryan; a sister, Betsy; and many nieces and nephews. To them all, the class extends deepest sympathy.
