Jack died suddenly and far too young in 1971, while hiking in Mount Rainier National Park in Washington.

Jack was born July 14, 1946, in Passaic, N.J., and graduated from Ridgewood High School, where he played both soccer and tennis. At Princeton, he majored in chemistry, was on the dean’s list two years, played on the All-Ivy soccer team, and was a member of Cottage. His roommates were Arnie Harrison, Bob Kemp, Ken Hande, Alex Asch, Harry Pringle, and David Brewer, who remember him as always cheerful, friendly and the most “Princetonian” of the group.

Jack married his high school sweetheart, Julie, and undertook studies at Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. At the time of his death he was researching possible residencies in the Seattle area. At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife, brother, mother, and father, Alfred R. Gessinger ’27. To them, the class extends its deepest sympathies.
