John Rodman Moulinier ’45

Rod died Nov. 8, 2010, at home in Tucson, Ariz., with his beloved wife, Francesca (the former Fran Farrell), at his side.

Rod prepared for Princeton at Choate and joined Cannon Club. His Princeton career was interrupted for service in World War II with the 71st Infantry, which saw combat in Austria and Germany. He received a degree in economics from Princeton in 1948. Between 1948 and 1956, Rod had various jobs in the New York City area but moved permanently to Arizona in 1956 and earned a master’s degree in education from Arizona State University. He became a counselor for the Arizona Employment Service, working in his community with minority groups and economically deprived individuals.

All of his life he remained an avid outdoorsman. His eventual marriage to Francesca, following the loss of his first wife, Lisa, in 1992, cemented that interest. Classmates who came to know him well mourn the loss of a gentleman who will be missed, especially by those who have needed him most for emotional and career counseling, an avocation at which he was specially gifted.

The class extends its sympathy to Francesca and to Rod’s children, stepchildren, 21 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
