Jack Taylor died Jan. 27, 1995, in Northfield, Vt., of complications from pneumonia. He was 80. Jack prepared at Glen Ridge (N.J.) H.S., where he was head of student government, an honor student, and a three-sport athlete.

Jack earned class numerals at Princeton in bas­ketball and baseball. Majoring in economics, he graduated magna cum laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He belonged to Terrace Club. After graduation, he served several years and chaired the university's advisory committee on economics. In business, he entered textbook publishing with McGraw­Hill, where he became a director and sr. v.p.

Jack married Norma Crandall in 1937. They lived in Glen Ridge, where they participated in many civic activities. Jack retired early, in 1974, and they moved to Northfield, Vt. Jack served Oil Norwich Univ.'s board of fellows, and continued his exem­plary participation in community affairs. He and Norma traveled extensively.

After Norma's death, Jack had married Vivian Bryan. She survives, as do daughters Rev. Wendy Manley. Patricia Schwartz, and Joan Drake; son David; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The class sends condolences to all, and mourns the passing of a worthy classmate.
