JORDAN COMBES CHURCHILL, a veteran teacher of history, died Feb. 11, 1994. He got his undergraduate degree and his first master's from Amherst. In 1930, he joined the faculty of history at the Lawrenceville School (N.J.), where he eventually became master of the upper house and chairman of the history department. He earned a second master's in history at Princeton, then went to teach at the Rugby School in England.

In 1965, he joined the faculty of the Blue Ridge School in Dyke, Va., where he remained until be retired in 1987. During his tenure at Dyke, he served as chairman of the history department and also as dean of students. He was an active churchgoer, serving as a Presbyterian elder until his death.

He is survived by his widow, three daughters, and a brother. His was a truly monumental pedagogical career of 57 years. We extend sincere sympathies to his family.
