Joseph Hodgson Jr. ’32
JOE HODGSON died Feb. 8, 1993, in the aftermath of a stroke he had suffered in 1991 while playing golf
As soon as he graduated from Princeton, Joe was employed by Searrain Lines Inc., a transport company co-founded by his father. He was with that company until he retired in 1974, having been traffic manager and a director of the company.
From 1946 to 1974, Joe lived in Montclair, N.J., where he served on numerous committees. He was also a member of the Glen Ridge Country Club and the Traffic Club of New York. During WWII, he served as a consultant to the War Shipping Administration. After retiring, he and his wife, Frances, now deceased, moved to Punta Gorda, Fla. An excellent golfer, Joe was shooting scores in the high 70s until he was felled by his stroke in 1991.
Joe is survived by two sons, Joseph III and T. Robert; two sisters, Mrs. Harry McBrair and Mrs. Donald McLellan; and four grandchildren. The Class extends its deep sympathy to all of them.
