He graduated with honors in chemistry from Princeton and went on to Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons (P&S). Julian had a long career as a consultation–liaison psychiatrist.
Julian was an alumni interviewer of applicants to Princeton, but other than that, was not active in class affairs. However, he always had a fond and grateful feeling about his college experience.
On June 23, 1957, he married Rita Weinberg, who survives him along with two daughters, Melissa and Amy; and three grandchildren, Dahlia, Ella, and Ben. Rita and Julian met in high school and were classmates at P&S.
Julian was a kind, gentle soul who was adored by his family and patients. He enjoyed his wine collection, acquired during extensive traveling. He was an avid fisherman, gardener, and superb baker who shared his talents with many people. He is greatly missed.
