Julius Byles ’31

Body

WITH THE DEATH of Julius Bytes on July 27, 1991, at his home in Vero Beach, Fla., where he and his widow, Nancy, had lived for many years, we have lost a classmate who contributed ably to the good fortunes of '31. Julie came to Princeton from Loomis School. He was on the freshman football and track teams, preparatory to winning three letters in each of those sports. In his senior year he was captain of the track team. As a senior, he won a Rhodes Scholarship and later studied at Oxford. In WWII he served in the U.S. Army in Europe in military government and liaison agreements. Subsequently, he became affiliated with California Texas Oil Co., which he represented for a time in Italy.

The sympathy of the class is extended to his widow and family members.
