Kent Keehn ’46

Body

Kent Keehn died of pneumonia on Aug. 20, 1988. He started with us in June 1942 and left in 1943 to prepare for his West Point examination. He entered the Military Academy in July 1943 and upon graduation was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Army.

A veteran of the Korean War, Kent was an intelligence officer with the 24th Infantry Division, served as controller at the Army Training Center in Ft. Chaffee, Ark., and was budget officer at the Army's European Headquarters, in Heidelberg, West Germany. He also served as a battalion commander with the Third Infantry Division.

After he left the Army, Kent joined Pfizer, Inc., and was C.E.O. in pharmaceuticals from 1967 until 1980, with assignments in Africa and Korea. On loan from Pfizer in the Presidential Executive Interchange Program, he was an external consultant for the Dept. of Energy during the Carter Administration. Kent left Pfizer in 1980 and was a lecturer at the Univ. of Reno's School of Business Admn.

We recall Kent's blond good looks, athletic ability, and great good nature. The class extends its sympathy to his widow Margaret and to their sons Stephen, Jeffrey, Michael, and Patrick.
