Kerwin P. Kinard ’40

Body

KEN KINARD DIED June 28, 1994, in Kansas City, Mo. His educational experience was indeed a multifarious one. After Exeter, he spent two years at Princeton; graduated from the Naval Academy in 1940; then earned a B.S. from Georgetown in foreign relations, where he was awarded the Walsh Medal for Intl. Law. At Princeton, he was on the fencing and squash teams and a Terrace Club member.

From 1941-47 Ken served in the navy. Subsequently, he commenced business pursuits to occupy executive and sales positions with Kelly Springfield, Colgate Palmolive, Bristol Myers, and the Braun Division of Gillette Co. He traveled a lot, and lived in India, Mexico, Brazil, Germany, and Spain-also covering Argentina, Morocco, and the Middle East. He returned eventually to the Gillette NY office and retired in 1987 to settle in Kansas City. Skiing, golf, and flying were among his interests.

Ken remained a bachelor. His survivors include a sister, Lee Kinard Degerburg; two nephews; and a niece. To whom we offer our condolences.
