Kevin Byrne, of Willistown, Penn., committed suicide on June 1, 1989, after a long battle with depression. Born in Providence, R.I., Kevin graduated from Episcopal Acad¬emy in Pennsylvania. At Princeton, he majored in biol¬ogy and was a valued member of the karate team and of Colonial Club. Kevin was also the man behind our tiger mascot during several football games. One of his proud¬est achievements at Princeton was playing the role of God in a student theatrical production.

After graduation, Kevin worked as a research assistant in the Dept. of Orthopedic Surgery at the Univ. of Ver¬mont Medical School, where he dealt extensively with computers and co-authored several papers on lower-back mechanics. At the time of his death, he was a third-year medical student at the Jefferson Medical College of Tho¬mas Jefferson Univ., in Philadelphia.

The class extends its sympathies to his parents, Dr. Earl B. Byrne '54 and Janice Byrne, of Malvern, Penn.; his sister, Jennifer Byrne, of Boston; and his maternal grandmother, Ferol Peckham, of Tiverton, R.I. Memorial contributions may be made to the university in the name of Kevin Buckingham Byrne.
