LISTER HILL. died of cancer July 15, 1993, at his home in Montgomery, Ala. He came to Princeton from St. Alban's School. Though born in Montgomery, Lister's childhood was spent in Washington, D.C., as the son of Sen. Lister Hill (DemocratAlabama).

At Princeton, Lister was president of the James Madison Assembly, active in WhigClio, a Keyceptor, and a member of the bicker committee. Lis joined Quadrangle and majored in history. In his senior year, he roomed with John Milton.

After Princeton, Lister graduated from Harvard Law in 1960 and clerked for justice Davis Stakely of the Alabama Supreme Court from 1960 to 1961. He then joined the law firm of Capell, Howard, Knabe and Cobbs, becoming a senior partner. He was active in bar association matters; was vicechairman of Young Lawyers, Tax Section; and local United Appeal, Boy Scouts, and Democratic organizations.

His wife, Catharine Gore, died in 1992. Survivors include his three children, Preston, Anne Hill Patrick, and Catharine Hill Saunders; a sister, Henrietta Hubbard; and two grandchildren. The Class of'57 extends its sincere condolences to his family and friends.
