Lawrence D'Elena ’34

Body

LARRY D'ELENA, who retired in 1982 after 33 years of teaching at private and public schools, died Aug. 15, 1994, Among the schools where he taught Latin, English, and music were the Severns School in Delaware, the Peddie School, and Florence Township (N.J.) H.S. In recent years, he had kept busy giving piano lessons to youngsters in his Burlington, N.J., neighborhood and playing for sing-along sessions at local senior citizens' clubs.

Music was Larry's lifelong hobby, and he maintained a sizable collection of recordings of all types of music, including Princeton Glee Club selections and the songs he wrote for three Triangle Club Shows.

Born in Italy, he came to the U.S. at the age of six months and made Burlington his home since then. In fact, he lived all that while at the same Locust Ave. address.

Larry was unmarried. He is survived by a brother, John; a sister, Mary Severi; and two nephews. To them we offer our sincere sympathies.
