Lewis C. Reisner ’43

WE LOST Dr. Lew on Feb. 9, 1993, following a long illness. He was 71.

Lew was a graduate of Lower Merion (Penn.) H.S. and Phillips Exeter Academy in Andover, Mass. Following Princeton, he graduated from the Univ. of Pennsylvania Medical School, later interning at UPenn's hospital.

From 1946 to 1948, Lew served as a captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps in Biloxi, Miss. He then returned to UPenn for a threeyear residency at the hospital there.

Lew began his lifelong practice of OBGYN in Morgantown, W.Va., in 1951. By 1954, he was one of the earlier members of the Olean (N.Y.) Medical Group. In the course of a 45year career, Lew estimated he delivered over 7,000 babies.

He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, the former Doris Field; three daughters, Mrs. David Murray, Mrs. W. Randolph Wilson, and Mrs. Jay Carter; two sons, Walter L. if and Richard C.; and 13 grandchildren.

Lew's Princeton roommates down through the years - George Oliva, Dan MacDougald, Andy Armstrong, Kirk Bromley, and Bill Hagen remember him with fondness and affection. They join the rest of the Class in offering heartfelt condolences to the Reisner family.
