Lewis Van H. Dusen III ’62
THE CLASS LOST one of its most loyal members when Lewis Van Dusen died Dec. 30, 1993, after a long, valiant fight with cancer. Lew's support of the class and of Princeton activities, particularly in his native Philadelphia, was always enthusiastic. At the
Nov. 11, 1993, commemoration of the 125th anniversary of the Princeton Club of Philadelphia, Lew's presence and inspiration were felt by all in attendance at the reception and dinner that followed.
Lew prepared at Episcopal Academy of Merion, Penn., and at St. Paul's School. While at Princeton, he was the manager of the football team and a member of Tiger Inn. After graduation, Lew joined the Philadelphia Nad. Bank, where he served as a commercial lending officer, specializing in regional Philadelphiaarea companies.
Lew had many activities and interests. He was an active member of the Church of the Redeemer in Bryn Mawr, served as a board member of the Child Guidance Clinic, and was an officer in the First Troop Philadelphia City Cavalry. He belonged to the Princeton Club of Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Club, the Rabbit, and the State in Schuykill.
Lew is survived by his widow, Cissy; children, Eveleigh, Lewis IV (Corty), and Adam; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis H. Jr. '32; sister, Sally Johnson; and brothers Duncan '58 and Michael '65. The class extends its sympathy to his family.
